One way to help lower your chance of getting ‘hacked’ is to avoid using easy-to-guess passwords.
Using ‘password’, ’123456′, or ‘qwerty’ might seem clever and make your password easy to remember but they are also easy to guess.
And, yes, those are 3 of the most popular passwords people use and changing the ‘o’ in ‘password’ to a ’0′ just moves you down the list a bit.
SplashData, a password management application provider, recently compiled this list of the 25 worst passwords from the millions of stolen passwords that are available online. According to SplashData, having secure, tough-to-guess passwords may not deter a sophisticated and determined hacker but it will make it much more difficult for amateur cyber thieves to breach online accounts.
