Four days after a man was killed in a head-on crash outside Belfair, another man was injured Friday in a head-on crash at almost the exact same spot.

On Dec. 9 a 67-year-old Belfair man, suspected of being intoxicated, was driving the wrong way in the westbound lane of North Shore Road approaching Sand Hill Road at about 3 p.m. in a 2005 Subaru Outback, when he struck an oncoming Ford F-350, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The Belfair man was taken to St. Michael’s Medical Center in Silverdale for treatment. The man driving the F-350 was not injured.

On Monday Dec. 5, 86-year-old Karl E. McNeill, of Belfair, was driving west on the road at about 1:12 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and struck an oncoming vehicle near Sand Hill Road.
