Mid-Columbia Insurance Agency – Basin City
Basin City was laid out in the 1950s to support the local agricultural community that was developing due to the irrigation provided through the Columbia Basin Project. Today the area is home to a large number of orchards and the area is a major producer of apples, cherries, and other fruits.
Basin City, as the name implies, lies in a basin formed by Basin Hill, Sage Hill, Radar Hill and the Saddle Mountains. A small lake, called Bailie’s Lake, formed by irrigation runoff, lies northwest of town and provides opportunities for fishing and hunting.
