Sources say that a newly minted driver was driving a bit too fast around a corner and swerved into the curb hitting a post and flipping the car onto the sidewalk in front of Walgreens on George Washington Way in Richland. Good news is that no one was on the sidewalk and none of the 3 in the car were seriously hurt. Sad day for that new driver’s car insurance rates.
Now, not to doubt the driver’s story, but what else my have contributed to this accident? Distractions? Cell phones? Texting? Kids who are misbehaving? It is very important that we educate new drivers to the fact that driving is a full time job, especially when you are new to it. What is the saying? YOLO: You only live once. I say, don’t waste it.
