What is SR-22 Insurance coverage?
Sometimes an SR22 is called a certificate of financial responsibility (CFR) filing. Having an SR-22 form on file merely means you are fulfilling the state’s minimum auto insurance coverage requirements.
If you let your SR22 insurance coverage go unpaid, your insurance provider is obliged to inform the state with a SR 26 form and if you go without the SR-22, you may need to pay the state to restore your license once you get a new SR22.
Is an SR-22 the same as auto insurance coverage?
An SR22 is evidence you have cars or truck insurance coverage. Kind of like the Proof of Insurance Card you would present to a police officer if you were pulled over but the SR 22 form is filed with the Department of Licensing (DOL).
Having an SR 22 is merely proof you are fulfilling the state’s minimum car insurance requirements and is simply an addition to your automobile insurance . Your insurance company is certifying to the DOL that you have liability insurance in force with them and they are required to notify the DOL if your insurance coverage terminates.
I Don’t Own a Cars or Truck– Can I Still Get an SR 22?
Yes, you can get an SR 22 even if you do not have an auto. If the Department of Licensing (DOL) requires you carry an SR22 to keep your driver’s license, we can help even if you do not own a vehicle.
You can get what is called a Broad Form Insurance policy, or more typically “Drivers License Insurance”.
A Broad Form plan covers you when you are driving almost any car, owned or non-owned.
There are downsides to insuring your license. Make sure to speak to one of our knowledgeable insurance agents when making this essential decision.

Can My Current Company File My SR-22?
Your present company can probably attach an SR 22 to your insurance policy however this might cause problems for you. Numerous insurance providers consider themselves “preferred” and do not want to cover people who require an SR 22. They might increase your rates significantly and even terminate your policy at renewal when they find out you require an SR 22.
Can I obtain an SR22 from a different insurance company?
Yes, you can have a different insurance provider file your SR22 with the state and not alert your present insurer. If they don’t examine your driving record, and unless you had a crash they most likely won’t, you may be able to maintain your preferred car insurance prices.
If you don’t wish to inform your present insurance coverage agent about your need for an SR22, Mid-Columbia Insurance can write a basic insurance plan on your driver’s license (called Broad Form) with the SR 22 so you can maintain your present “preferred” insurance on your autos and have an SR-22 on your license.
Just How Much Is SR-22 Insurance Coverage in Ilwaco?
The average rate of SR 22 insurance should be less than $5 monthly when added to a normal vehicle insurance policy given that a lot of insurance providers only charge about $25 per 6 month policy term for an SR22 filing. This is simply the charge the insurer includes to manage the documentation needed by the state to alert them that you have an active SR22 filing. If your insurance company charges more, you might want to get a new quote and we can help!
Why, then, does SR22 insurance coverage seem so pricey? An SR22 is simply a rider on your ordinary vehicle insurance policy. If it is pricey, it is because the car insurance rate is based on your driving record. Did you get a ticket for driving under the influence? Multiple traffic tickets? Involved in a crash? Been without insurance? Certainly something occurred to cause you to need the SR-22 and this is what triggers your insurance to be higher than others.
How much will SR22 insurance coverage cost? SR22 insurance is affordable. It is your driving record that is not.
How Long Am I Required to Carry My SR22?
Typically you are required to have an SR-22 for 3 years however it could well be more or less depending upon the judge and also your situation.
The very best way to figure out how long you are going to need to have an SR22 is to call the DOL directly and ask.
What Occurs If I Ever Cancel My SR 22 Insurance Coverage?
If your SR-22 insurance terminates while an SR22 is still needed, the state will certainly re-suspend your license until you get another SR-22 submitted once again and you may need to pay the reinstatement charges once again in order to get your drivers license back.
When your SR-22 terminates, the insurance provider is obliged to file an SR 26 with the Department of Licensing to alert them that you no longer have active insurance.
If you are pulled over while your SR-22 is out of force, you probably will receive a ticket for driving while suspended, which will raise the cost on your insurance even more.
How Can I Get The Lowest SR22 Insurance Rates?

Washington state only mandates minimal liability limits on the plan so it does not need to be expensive to get insured. Of course, the more tickets you have received, the more your insurance coverage will set you back.
A fast telephone call and we can have your insurance set up as well as your SR-22 on its way to the state.
Does SR 22 Hike Insurance Rates?
Needing an SR22 hikes your insurance prices because many preferred insurance providers do not want to insure a person that requires an SR22 as well as because of the tickets you probably have on your motor vehicle record.

Ilwaco ( il-WAH-koh) is a city in Pacific County, Washington, United States. The population was 936 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1890, the city was home to the Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Company along the Long Beach Peninsula, with its core economy based on logging and timber rafting. The city is located on the southern edge of the Long Beach Peninsula, on Baker Bay on the north side of the Columbia River where it meets the Pacific Ocean. It is near the city of Astoria, Oregon, which lies to the southeast on the southern bank of the Columbia.
Ilwaco was first settled by Henry Feister in 1851, and was named for Elwahko Jim, the son in law of Chief Comcomly. Ilwaco was officially incorporated on December 16, 1890. A narrow gauge railway, Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Company, ran for over thirty years. Similarly to the nearby city of Astoria, Oregon, and the surrounding communities, Ilwaco historically had a significant population of Finnish immigrants.
The railroad ran north up First Street in Ilwaco. A published photo shows the railroad’s Ilwaco facilities, including a gallows turntable and elevated watering trough, were located on the southwest corner of the intersection of First and Spruce streets. The depot was built nearby on Spruce Street. A siding was built for the Ilwaco Mill and Lumber Company. A published photo shows the passenger depot on the west side of First Street, at a point 14.8 miles (23.8 km) from the Ilwaco Depot to Nahcotta. The Ilwaco freight depot was in a different building. The freight depot survived to modern times, and has been relocated to become part of the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum.
