What is SR22 Insurance?
Sometimes an SR22 is called a certificate of financial responsibility (CFR) filing. Having an SR22 form on file simply means you are meeting the state’s minimum vehicle insurance coverage requirements.
If you let your SR-22 insurance coverage cancel, your insurance provider is obliged to inform the state with a SR-26 form and if you go long enough without the SR 22, you might have to pay the state to reinstate your license once you get a new SR 22.
Is an SR-22 the same as vehicle insurance coverage?
An SR-22 is evidence you have cars or truck insurance. Sort of like the Insurance ID Card you would present to a police if you were pulled over but the SR 22 form is submitted to the Department of Licensing (DOL).
Having an SR-22 is just proof you are fulfilling the DOL’s minimum automobile insurance requirements and is simply an addition to your vehicle insurance coverage. Your insurance company is verifying to the DOL that you have liability insurance coverage in force with them and they promise to notify the DOL if your insurance cancels.

Been without insurance coverage? Obviously something took place to trigger you to need the SR-22 and this is what triggers your insurance coverage to be higher than others.

Does SR22 Increase Insurance Rates?
Needing an SR 22 increases your insurance policy rates since a lot of preferred insurance companies don’t want to cover a driver that requires an SR22 and due to the tickets you most likely have on your motor vehicle record.

Oak Harbor is Whidbey Island’s largest incorporated city; it is named for the Garry Oak trees which grace its skyline. The city’s growth coincided with two major events: the building of Deception Pass Bridge on July 31, 1935, and the completion of Naval Air Station Whidbey Island on September 21, 1942.
Oak Harbor’s history goes back to the early 1850s, when two settlers staked claims where the city now stands—Zakarias Toftezen, a shoemaker from Norway; C.W. Sumner from New England.
Houses and businesses sprouted up along the shores of Oak Harbor as the pioneers relied entirely on water transportation until the 1900s. For the next 30 years, steamers and freighters carried passengers and freight from the Island to the mainland and back as well as Fidalgo Island to the north.
