What is SR 22 Insurance coverage?
Sometimes an SR22 is also called a certificate of financial responsibility (CFR) filing. Having an SR 22 form on file simply indicates you are satisfying the state’s minimum car insurance requirements.
If you let your SR 22 insurance coverage go unpaid, your insurance company is required to notify the state with a SR-26 form and if you go long enough without the SR22, you may have to pay the state to get back your license once you get a new SR 22.
Is an SR22 considered car insurance coverage?
An SR-22 is proof you have vehicle insurance coverage. Sort of like the Insurance ID Card you would present to a police officer if you were pulled over but the SR22 form is submitted to the Department of Licensing (DOL).
Having an SR22 is just evidence you are satisfying the state’s minimum auto insurance requirements and is just a rider on your vehicle insurance coverage. Your insurance carrier is certifying to the DOL that you have liability insurance coverage in force with them and they guarantee to alert the DOL if your insurance terminates.
I Don’t Own a Vehicle– Can I Still Get an SR-22?
Yes, you can get an SR-22 even if you do not own an auto. If the Department of Licensing (DOL) mandates you have an SR-22 to reinstate your license, we can help even if you do not own a car.

Can My Current Company File My SR-22?
Your present company should be able to attach an SR 22 to your insurance plan yet this might trigger problems for you. They may jack up your rates considerably or even cancel your plan at renewal when they learn you need an SR 22.
Can I obtain an SR 22 from a different insurance company?
Yes, you can have a different insurance agent submit your SR22 with the state and not alert your current insurance company. If they don’t examine your driving history, and unless there was an accident they most likely won’t, you might be able to maintain your preferred vehicle insurance prices.
If you do not wish to inform your current insurance policy agent about your requirement for an SR22, Mid-Columbia Insurance can offer a simple insurance policy on your driver’s license (called Broad Form) with the SR 22 so you can maintain your present “preferred” insurance coverage on your cars and trucks and also have an SR-22 on your license.
Just How Much Is SR-22 Insurance Coverage in Ocean Shores?
The average cost of SR22 insurance should be less than $5 monthly when added to a typical vehicle insurance plan since the majority of insurance companies only charge about $25 per 6 month policy term for an SR-22 filing. This is just the fee the insurance provider charges to deal with the paperwork required by the state to alert them that you have an active SR22 insurance filing. Why, then, does SR-22 insurance coverage seem so expensive? An SR-22 is just a rider on your normal car insurance. If it is costly, it is because the vehicle insurance rate is based upon your actual driving record. Did you get a DUI? Several traffic tickets? Involved in an accident? Been without insurance coverage? Undoubtedly something occurred to trigger you to need the SR-22 and this is what triggers your insurance to be higher than others.
How much will SR-22 insurance coverage cost? SR22 insurance coverage is affordable. It is your driving record that is pricey.
For How Long Do I Need to Carry An SR-22?
Normally you are required to have an SR-22 for Three years but it could quite possibly be more or less depending upon the judge and your circumstances.
The most effective way to learn how long you are going to really need to have an SR22 is to call the Washington Department of Licensing directly and ask.
What Occurs If I Terminate My SR-22 Insurance?
If, while needed, your SR22 insurance coverage cancels while an SR22 is still needed, the state will certainly suspend your license till you get another SR-22 submitted once more and also you may be required to pay the reinstatement fees once again in order to get your drivers license back.
When your SR-22 cancels, the insurance provider is obliged to submit an SR26 with the DOL to inform them that you no longer have active insurance coverage.

Can I Obtain An SR22 Without Having An Auto Insurance Policy?
If you do not have auto insurance, you can obtain an SR-22 by beginning a brand-new insurance policy and asking the insurance provider to submit the SR-22 for you.
Washington state just calls for minimum coverage on the policy so it doesn’t have to be expensive to get started. Of course, the more tickets you have on your driving record, the more your insurance will set you back.
A fast telephone call and we can have your insurance policy started as well as your SR-22 on its way to the state.
Does SR 22 Raise Insurance Prices?
Needing an SR22 increases your insurance rates because many name-brand insurance providers do not desire to insure someone who requires an SR22 and because of the tickets you most likely have on your driving history.
The actual SR22 filing will just add about $25 to your vehicle insurance plan, however you will probably need to get insurance with a “High Risk” car insurance provider ready to take a chance on insuring you.

About Ocean Shores
Ocean Shores is a city in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,569 at the 2010 census.
The City of Ocean Shores occupies the Point Brown peninsula on the Washington coast. Long before the arrival of European explorers and settlers, the peninsula was used by the various local tribes for trading and other purposes. The Chinook, Chehalis, and Quinault tribes used the area, as well as others that now make up the Quinault Indian Nation.
On May 7, 1792, Captain Robert Gray sailed into the bay and named the area Bullfinch Harbor. Later, Captain George Vancouver renamed the area Grays Harbor after Captain Gray. The first established white settler on the Point was Matthew McGee, who settled in the early 1860s. He sold the southern portion of the peninsula to A.O. Damon in 1878 for a trading supply center whose dock extended into the Oyehut channel. A.O. Damon took over the entire peninsula from McGee, and the land was passed along to his grandson, Ralph Minard, who used the area as a cattle ranch from 1929 until he sold to the Ocean Shores Development Corporation in 1960 for $1,000,000.
