Can My Current Insurance Agent File My SR22?

Your current agent should be able to attach an SR-22 to your insurance plan but this may cause issues for you. Several insurance providers consider themselves “preferred” and so do not want to insure people that need an SR-22. They may jack up your rates significantly or even terminate your policy at renewal when they find out you need an SR-22.

Can I get an SR 22 from a different insurance agent?

Yes, you can have a different insurance agent submit your SR22 with the state and not inform your existing insurer. If they do not inspect your driving history, and unless there was a crash they possibly won’t, you might be able to maintain your preferred vehicle insurance policy prices.

If you don’t intend to tell your current insurance representative about your need for an SR22, Mid-Columbia Insurance can offer a basic insurance plan on your driver’s license (called Broad Form) with the SR 22 so you can keep your present “preferred” insurance policy on your automobiles and also have an SR-22 on your license.

How Much Is SR 22 Insurance Coverage in Pacific County?

The typical cost of SR 22 insurance ought to be less than $5 per month when included in an ordinary car insurance policy considering that many insurance companies only charge about $25 per 6 month policy term for an SR22 filing. This is merely the fee the insurance company charges to deal with the paperwork needed by the state to notify them that you have an active SR22 filing. If your insurer charges more, it is time to get a new quote and we would love to help!

Why, then, does SR22 insurance seem so pricey? An SR22 is simply a rider on your standard auto insurance policy. If it is pricey, it is because the vehicle insurance rate is based upon your actual driving record. Did you get a ticket for driving under the influence? Multiple traffic tickets? Involved in a crash? Been without insurance? Undoubtedly something happened to cause you to need the SR 22 and this is what triggers your insurance coverage to be higher than others.

So, how much will SR22 insurance coverage cost? SR22 insurance coverage is inexpensive. It is your driving record that is not.

How Long Am I Required to Carry An SR 22?

Typically you need to carry an SR-22 for Three years yet it can be more or less depending upon the court as well as your circumstances.

What Takes place If I Ever Cancel My SR 22 Insurance Coverage?

If, while needed, your SR-22 insurance policy terminates while an SR-22 is still needed, the state will suspend your driver’s license till you get another SR 22 filed once again as well as you may have to pay the reinstatement charges once more to get your driver’s license back.

When your SR22 cancels, the insurer is required to file an SR 26 with the state to notify them that you no longer have active insurance coverage.

A simple phone call and we can have your insurance coverage set up as well as your SR22 on its way to the DOL.

Does SR22 Increase Insurance Rates?

An SR22 raises your insurance policy rates because most name-brand insurance providers do not want to cover a driver who needs an SR22 and also because of the tickets you probably have on your driving history.

About Pacific County

Pacific County is a county in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2010 census, the population was 20,920. Its county seat is South Bend, and its largest city is Raymond. The county was formed by the government of Oregon Territory in February 1851 and is named for the Pacific Ocean.

Pacific County is centered on Willapa Bay, a region that provides twenty-five percent of the United States oyster harvest, although forestry, fishing, and tourism are also significant elements of the county’s economy.

The area that is now Pacific County was part of Oregon Territory in the first part of the nineteenth century. On December 19, 1845, the Provisional Government of Oregon created two counties (Vancouver and Clark) in its northern portion (which is now the state of Washington). In 1849, the name of Vancouver County was changed to Lewis County, and on February 4, 1851, a portion of Lewis County was partitioned off to become Pacific County. The county’s boundaries have not changed since its creation. The unincorporated community of Oysterville, established in 1852, was the first county seat. The county records were stolen from Oysterville and ferried across Willapa Harbor by residents of South Bend, resulting in that town becoming the new county seat in 1893.
