What is SR22 Insurance coverage?
Often an SR22 is called a certificate of financial responsibility (CFR) filing. Having an SR22 form on file merely proves you are satisfying the state’s minimum automobile insurance coverage requirements.
If you let your SR22 insurance go unpaid, your insurance provider is obligated to notify the state with a SR 26 form and if you go long enough without the SR-22, you might have to pay the state to restore your license once you get a brand-new SR-22.
Is an SR22 considered auto insurance?
An SR 22 is proof you have car insurance. Sort of like the Proof of Insurance Card you would present to law enforcement if you were pulled over but the SR 22 form is filed with the Department of Licensing (DOL).
Having an SR-22 is merely proof you are meeting the DOL’s minimum car insurance requirements and is simply a rider on your car insurance policy. Your insurance provider is verifying to the state that you have liability insurance in force with them and they are required to notify the DOL if your insurance coverage terminates.
I Don’t Own a Vehicle– Can I Still Get an SR22?
Yes, you can get an SR 22 even if you do not own a car. If the Department of Licensing (DOL) mandates you carry an SR-22 to reinstate your driver’s license, we can assist even if you don’t own an automobile.

The average price of SR 22 insurance should be less than $5 monthly when included in a regular car insurance plan given that the majority of insurers just charge about $25 per 6 month policy term for an SR 22 filing. If your company charges more, you might want to get a new quote and our agency can help!
Why, then, does SR 22 insurance coverage seem so expensive? An SR-22 is just a rider on your standard car insurance policy. If it is pricey, it is because the vehicle insurance rate is based upon your real driving record. Did you get a ticket for driving under the influence? Multiple traffic tickets? Involved in a wreck? Been without insurance? Obviously something occurred to trigger you to need the SR22 and this is what triggers your insurance coverage to be higher than others.
How much will SR 22 insurance coverage cost? SR22 insurance coverage is affordable. It is your driving record that is not.
For How Long Am I Required to Have An SR22?
Generally you are required to carry an SR 22 for 3 years yet it could quite possibly be more or less depending upon the court and also your circumstances.

Republic is a city in Ferry County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,073 at the 2010 census, a 12.5% increase over the 2000 Census. It is the county seat of Ferry County.
Republic was founded by gold prospectors in the late 19th century. Mining claims were first made along Eureka Creek on 21 February 1896, after the northern half of the Colville Indian Reservation was vacated. On 5 March 1896, the Republic claim was staked by Thomas Ryan and Philip Creasor along Granite Creek, another branch of the Sanpoil River. The resulting Republic Mine eventually became the highest producer of gold in the county. On 18 April 1896, the Eureka Mining District was established. In July 1897, Philip Creasor built a two-story hotel at the townsite, originally called Eureka. This town site was platted on 29 April 1898, and the post office name changed to Republic, since there was already a post office named Eureka in the state of Washington. On 8 May 1900, a special election was held which approved incorporation of Republic, and J.J. Sullivan was elected mayor. The town was then officially incorporated on 22 May 1900, and had a population of about 1800.
Republic’s prominence, initially brought on by the gold rush, started to fade as prospectors and those who supported the mining industry moved away. During the years between 1900 and 1910, the town lost over half its population. Despite this, mining has continued to be an important part of life in Republic, as gold is still mined for in the mountains surrounding the town. Mining is celebrated in the local Prospector’s Days, held during the second weekend in June, where locals honor their prospector roots by competing in mining and logging competitions, panning for gold, and watching an old west gun fight. Today, the town of 1,100 is sustained mainly by those people in surrounding farms and ranches, miners who work at the local mine, and tourists looking for a quieter, slower pace of life.
