Can My Existing Insurance Company File My SR-22?

Your current company can probably add an SR-22 to your insurance policy however this might trigger issues for you. Many insurance companies consider themselves “preferred” and do not want to insure people who require an SR-22. They might increase your rates significantly or perhaps terminate your plan at renewal when they find out you need an SR 22.

Can I obtain an SR22 from a different insurance company?

Yes, you can have a different insurer submit your SR22 with the state and not inform your current insurance company. If they do not check your driving history, and unless there was an accident they probably won’t, you probably can keep your preferred vehicle insurance prices.

If you don’t intend to inform your existing insurance agent regarding your requirement for an SR22, Mid-Columbia Insurance can write a basic insurance policy on your ‘s license (called Broad Form) with the SR 22 so you can keep your existing “preferred” insurance coverage on your cars and trucks and have an SR-22 on your license.

How Much Is SR22 Insurance Coverage in Shoreline?

The typical cost of SR 22 insurance should be less than $5 per month when included in an ordinary auto insurance plan since a lot of insurers just charge about $25 per 6 month policy term for an SR22 filing. This is simply the charge the insurance provider charges to deal with the paperwork needed by the state to notify them that you have an active SR22 filing. If your company charges more, you might want to get a new quote and our agency is more than happy to help!

Why, then, does SR-22 insurance seem so pricey? An SR22 is simply a rider on your standard vehicle insurance policy. If it is expensive, it is due to the fact that the auto insurance rate is based upon your real driving record. Did you get a ticket for driving under the influence? Several traffic tickets? Involved in a wreck? Been without insurance coverage? Certainly something occurred to trigger you to need the SR-22 and this is what causes your insurance to be higher than others.

Just how much will SR 22 insurance coverage cost? SR22 insurance is cheap. It is your driving record that is not.

For How Long Am I Required to Carry My SR 22?

Typically you need to carry an SR-22 for 3 years yet it could be more or less depending on the court and your circumstances.

The most effective way to figure out how long you are going to need to have an SR-22 is to call the Washington Department of Licensing directly at 360-902-3900 and ask.

What Takes place If I Ever Cancel My SR 22 Insurance?

If your SR 22 insurance policy cancels while an SR 22 is still mandated, the state will certainly re-suspend your drivers license until you get another SR22 filed once again and you may have to pay the reinstatement fees once again in order to get your driver’s license back.

When your SR 22 terminates, the insurer is obliged to file an SR 26 with the DOL to notify them that you no longer have active insurance.

Does SR 22 Hike Insurance Prices?

About Shoreline

Shoreline is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is located between the city limits of Seattle and the Snohomish County border, approximately 9 miles (14 km) north of Downtown Seattle. As of the 2010 census, the population of Shoreline was 53,007, making it the 20th largest city in the state; by 2020, the population had risen to an estimated 57,497. Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Shoreline ranks 91st of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked.

Shoreline began in 1890 with the platting of the neighborhood of Richmond Beach, on Puget Sound, in anticipation of the arrival of the Great Northern Railway the next year. Over the next two decades, Shoreline was connected to Seattle via the Seattle-Everett Interurban streetcar line (1906) and North Trunk Road (now Aurora Avenue N., State Route 99) (1913), helping to increase its population.

The name “Shoreline” was applied to this stretch of unincorporated King County in 1944 when it was given to the school district, since the school district boundaries stretched from “Shore to Shore” (Puget Sound to Lake Washington) and “Line to Line” (the old Seattle city limit of 85th St to the Snohomish County Line). Though the modern borders of the city do not stretch to Lake Washington, the area has kept the “Shoreline” name.
