What is SR 22 Insurance coverage?
Often an SR22 is called a certificate of financial responsibility (CFR) filing. Having an SR22 form on file just indicates you are satisfying the state’s minimum vehicle insurance coverage requirements.
If you let your SR-22 insurance cancel, your insurance company is obligated to inform the state with a SR-26 form and if you go for a time without the SR-22, you might need to pay a fine to restore your license once you get a new SR 22.
Is an SR 22 the same as automobile insurance coverage?
An SR-22 is proof you have cars or truck insurance. Similar to the Proof of Insurance Card you would show to law enforcement if you were pulled over but the SR22 form is submitted to the Department of Licensing (DOL).
Having an SR-22 is merely evidence you are meeting the DOL’s minimum vehicle insurance requirements and is just a rider on your automobile insurance coverage. Your insurance provider is certifying to the DOL that you have liability insurance in force with them and they guarantee to notify the DOL if your insurance coverage lapses.
I Don’t Own a Vehicle– Can I Get an SR 22?
Yes, you can get an SR22 even if you do not have a car. If the Department of Licensing (DOL) requires you carry an SR-22 to keep your drivers license, we can help even if you don’t own a car.
You can get what is called a BroadForm Insurance policy, or more typically “Drivers License Insurance”.
A BroadForm policy covers you when you are driving almost any vehicle, owned or non-owned.
There are disadvantages to insuring your license. Be sure to talk to one of our knowledgeable insurance representatives when making this important choice.
For more details about Broad Form insurance, have a look at our Broad Form insurance/ Drivers License Insurance page.

Low-cost SR22 insurance coverage in Bucoda is normally found from an independent insurance agency like Mid-Columbia Insurance since we represent several companies that compete for your business. The General, Geico, and Progressive invest millions advertising on television attempting to persuade you that they can save you money by buying insurance coverage online just to disappoint.
As an independent insurance agency, we work for you, shopping an entire list of car and truck insurance providers to find for you the very best SR 22 insurance rates in Bucoda.
A lot of other insurance agencies, who we call AllStateFarmers, represent simply their one company and only have one rate to offer.
We work for you, comparing the prices and protections of several cars and truck insurance providers and providing you a choice.
Can My Present Company File My SR-22?
Your present agent should be able to add an SR-22 to your insurance policy but this might cause problems for you. Many insurance providers consider themselves “preferred” and do not want to cover people that need an SR 22. They may increase your prices substantially and even terminate your policy at renewal when they find out you need an SR22.
Can I obtain an SR 22 from a different insurance agent?
Yes, you can have a different insurance company submit your SR22 with the state and not alert your existing insurance company. If they do not check your driving history, and unless there was an accident they possibly won’t, you might be able to maintain your preferred auto insurance prices.
If you do not want to inform your existing insurance coverage agent about your requirement for an SR22, Mid-Columbia Insurance can write a basic insurance policy on your driver’s license (called Broad Form) with the SR 22 so you can maintain your existing “preferred” insurance coverage on your cars and trucks and have an SR-22 on your license.
How Much Is SR-22 Insurance Coverage in Bucoda?
The average price of SR22 insurance should be less than $5 each month when included in a normal vehicle insurance policy because most insurers only charge about $25 per 6 month policy term for an SR22 filing. This is simply the cost the insurance company charges to deal with the documentation needed by the state to alert them that you have an active SR22 insurance filing. If your insurer charges more, you might want to get a new quote and Mid-Columbia Insurance is more than happy to help!
Why, then, does SR22 insurance appear so expensive? An SR-22 is simply a rider on your normal vehicle insurance. If it is expensive, it is because the car insurance rate is based upon your driving record. Did you get a DUI? Several traffic tickets? Involved in a wreck? Been without insurance? Clearly something happened to cause you to require the SR22 and this is what causes your insurance to be higher than others.
Just how much will SR-22 insurance cost? SR22 insurance is cheap. It is your driving record that is costly.
For How Long Am I Required to Carry My SR 22?
Usually you are required to have an SR-22 for 3 years but it may be more or less depending on the court and your situation.
The very best way to learn how long you are going to really need to have an SR22 is to call the Department of Licensing directly and ask them.
What Occurs If I Ever Terminate My SR22 Insurance?
If your SR22 insurance policy cancels while an SR22 is still mandated, the state will suspend your driver’s license until you get another SR 22 filed again and you may be required to pay the reinstatement costs once more to get your driver’s license back.
When your SR-22 cancels, the insurance company is required to file an SR 26 with the state to inform them that you no longer have active insurance.
If you are pulled over while your SR-22 is canceled, you most likely will receive a ticket for driving while suspended, which will certainly jack up the price on your insurance coverage even more.
How Can I Obtain The Lowest SR22 Insurance Prices?
The lowest SR22 insurance policy prices can be obtained by going over prices of a couple insurance providers that concentrate on SR-22 insurance. The easiest means to do that is to just call Mid-Columbia Insurance. We work with numerous insurance companies that provide SR-22 insurance coverage– as well as we write a great deal of it.
If you live in Washington and must get your license reinstated, we can help. The SR-22s are submitted electronically with the state so you can get your driver’s license back quick.
If you live in Washington you most likely got your ticket here and so require a Washington SR22 but, if you require an out-of-state SR-22, we can likewise do Oregon SR 22s, California SR-22s, Idaho SR-22, and just about every other state.
Can I Get An SR-22 Without Having A Car Insurance Policy?
If you don’t have car insurance, you can obtain an SR22 by starting a brand-new insurance policy and also asking the insurance agent to submit the SR 22 for you.
Washington only requires minimal liability limits on the plan so it does not need to be pricey to get insured. Naturally, the more tickets you have received, the more your insurance will set you back.
A simple call and we can have your insurance policy set up and also your SR22 on its way to the DOL.
Does SR-22 Hike Insurance Prices?
Yes, an SR 22 hikes your insurance prices due to the fact that many preferred insurance companies do not desire to cover someone who requires an SR22 and because of the tickets you probably have on your motor vehicle record.
The real SR22 filing will only add around $25 to your car insurance policy, but you will possibly need to obtain insurance with a “High Risk” car insurance company willing to gamble on insuring you.

Bucoda is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 562 at the 2010 census.
The first American settler at what is now Bucoda was Aaron Webster (1828–1911) who arrived in 1854. In the 1860s Webster sold his claim and sawmill to Oliver Shead who officially named the settlement “Seatco”, a native word meaning evil spirit or devil. The Northern Pacific Railroad located a station at Seatco in 1872. Later the town was renamed Bucoda using the first two letters of three principal investors in local industries- Buckley, Coulter, and David. In the 1880s investors began operations to mine coal in the area, but the coal was of poor quality and operations were sporadic. From 1874 to 1888 Bucoda was the site of Washington’s first territorial prison. It garnered a reputation as a harsh institution as the inmates were used for dangerous and brutal manual labor in local industry. It was discontinued when the state opened the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, Washington. Bucoda was officially incorporated on June 7, 1910. The town had a water tower that was scrapped in the early 1980s. The Mutual Lumber Mill was so productive the town was once billed as the “Town with the Million Dollar Payroll”. The mill burned down and was rebuilt only to have demand wane and once again it was consumed by flames.
