What is SR-22 Insurance coverage?
Sometimes an SR22 is called a certificate of financial responsibility (CFR) filing. Having an SR22 form on file just proves you are fulfilling the state’s minimum vehicle insurance requirements.
If you let your SR22 insurance coverage lapse, your insurance company is obliged to notify the state with a SR26 form and if you go without the SR22, you may have to pay a fine to get back your license once you get a new SR 22.
Is an SR 22 considered vehicle insurance?
An SR22 is evidence you have cars or truck insurance coverage. Similar to the Insurance ID Card you would show to a police if you were pulled over but the SR 22 is submitted to the Department of Licensing (DOL).
Having an SR-22 is simply evidence you are satisfying the DOL’s minimum automobile insurance requirements and is just an addition to your vehicle insurance . Your insurance company is verifying to the state that you have liability insurance coverage in force with them and they are required to notify the state if your insurance cancels.
I Don’t Own a Vehicle– Can I Still Get an SR 22?
Yes, you can get an SR 22 even if you do not own a vehicle. If the Department of Licensing (DOL) requires you have an SR 22 to keep your driver’s license, we can assist even if you don’t own a car.
You can get what is called a Broad Form Insurance plan, or more typically “Drivers License Insurance”.
A BroadForm plan covers you when you are driving almost any automobile, owned or non-owned.
There are downsides to insuring your license. Be sure to speak to any of our knowledgeable insurance representatives when making this essential decision.

If you don’t intend to tell your existing insurance coverage agent about your requirement for an SR22, Mid-Columbia Insurance can offer a basic insurance plan on your driver’s license (called Broad Form) with the SR 22 so you can maintain your present “preferred” insurance on your autos and have an SR-22 on your license.
How Much Is SR 22 Insurance in Bucoda?
The average price of SR-22 insurance coverage ought to be less than $5 per month when added to a typical auto insurance policy because most insurance companies just charge about $25 per 6 month policy term for an SR 22 filing. Obviously something happened to trigger you to require the SR 22 and this is what causes your insurance coverage to be higher than others.
Just how much will SR 22 insurance cost? SR22 insurance is cheap. It is your driving record that is expensive.
How Long Do I Need to Carry An SR-22?
Generally you have to have an SR 22 for 3 years yet it can be more or less depending on the court as well as your situation.

When your SR-22 cancels, the insurance provider is required to file an SR 26 with the state to alert them that you no longer have active insurance coverage.

Bucoda is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 562 at the 2010 census.
The first American settler at what is now Bucoda was Aaron Webster (1828–1911) who arrived in 1854. In the 1860s Webster sold his claim and sawmill to Oliver Shead who officially named the settlement “Seatco”, a native word meaning evil spirit or devil. The Northern Pacific Railroad located a station at Seatco in 1872. Later the town was renamed Bucoda using the first two letters of three principal investors in local industries- Buckley, Coulter, and David. In the 1880s investors began operations to mine coal in the area, but the coal was of poor quality and operations were sporadic. From 1874 to 1888 Bucoda was the site of Washington’s first territorial prison. It garnered a reputation as a harsh institution as the inmates were used for dangerous and brutal manual labor in local industry. It was discontinued when the state opened the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, Washington. Bucoda was officially incorporated on June 7, 1910. The town had a water tower that was scrapped in the early 1980s. The Mutual Lumber Mill was so productive the town was once billed as the “Town with the Million Dollar Payroll”. The mill burned down and was rebuilt only to have demand wane and once again it was consumed by flames.
