Is Cycle Insurance Coverage Required in Washington State?
What Motorbike Insurance Should I Get?
- Liability insurance is the only protection that Washington state requires you to carry (since July 2019). Liability insurance secures you if you are found at fault for a crash where another individual is hurt or their property is harmed.
- Uninsured Motorist is, perhaps, the most essential insurance protection and is listed second simply because you can not get it without purchasing liability. With uninsured motorist, your insurer covers you and any others in your car as if they are the uninsured chauffeur’s insurer. In their October 2017 report, the Insurance Research Council reported that 17.4% of Washington drivers are uninsured.
- Medical coverage is an optional protection and pays for any necessary medical treatment for you and any others in your car up to the coverage amount you pick. This can be important if you do not have health insurance to cover your medical costs or you have a high-deductible health insurance.

What is BroadForm Motorbike Insurance?
How Much Does Cycle Insurance Cost?
- Your Age: Statistics tell the insurance provider that if you are under 25 you are more probable to have a crash than if you happen to be 30+.
- Your Driving Record: If you have received speeding tickets or have already had a wreck in the last few years, then your odds of having another accident are greater.
- Your Motorbike: Particular motorbikes seem to encourage careless riders.
- Your Garaging Address: Clogged, urban areas also raise your possibilities of being involved in an accident.
- Your Coverages: Obviously, if you buy extra coverages your rate is going to be increased but similar to when you purchase the bigger package at the supermarket, you also end up paying less per $1,000 of insurance coverage. For instance, increasing your liability coverage from $25,000 per person to $50,000 per person will not double the cost yet most likely raise it less than 20%.
- Your Discounts: Every insurance company gives different combinations of discounts. The more that match up with your circumstances, the more likely you will end up paying less. Some discounts available include: Multiple cycle, Multiple policy, Claim-free, Safety training course, Paid-in-full, Motorcycle association membership, and more.

About Port Townsend
Port Townsend is a city on the Quimper Peninsula in Jefferson County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,113 at the 2010 United States Census and an estimated 9,704 in 2018. It is the county seat and only incorporated city of Jefferson County. In addition to its natural scenery at the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula, the city is known for the many Victorian buildings remaining from its late 19th-century heyday, numerous annual cultural events, and as a maritime center for independent boatbuilders and related industries and crafts. The Port Townsend Historic District is a U.S. National Historic Landmark District. It is also significantly drier than the surrounding region due to being in the rainshadow of the Olympic Mountains, receiving only 19 inches or 480 millimeters of rain per year.
The bay was originally named “Port Townshend” by Captain George Vancouver in 1792, for his friend the Marquis of Townshend. It was immediately recognized as a good safe harbor, although strong south winds and poor holding ground often make small-craft anchorage problematic off the town’s waterfront.
The official European-American settlement of the city of the same name took place on April 24, 1851. American Indian tribes located in what is now Jefferson County in the mid-19th century included the Chimakum (or Chemakum), Hoh (a group of the Quileute), Klallam (or Clallam), Quinault, and Twana (the Kilcid band — Anglicized as “Quilcene”).
