A surge of smash and grabs using stolen vehicles and targeting cannabis shops has gripped the state, raising alarm among business owners and compelling a closer look at the security infrastructure surrounding these establishments.
A multiple-vehicle collision occurred Wednesday morning on Interstate 5 near DuPont, Washington, leading to lane closures and miles-long backups. According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident involved seven vehicles and resulted in one person being hospitalized.
The WSP responded to the report of a silver Nissan Altima going westbound in the eastbound lanes near North Bend.
The driver, Jhonatan B. Crisostomo Salmeron, was apprehended and charged with DUI, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license.
