Can you get Automobile insurance coverage without a license?
You can buy car insurance coverage even though you do not have a drivers license. Somebody might just question why someone would want to but there are a variety of legitimate reasons somebody may wish to, all having to do with securing themselves and their possessions.
- Your license is suspended, you probably want to get insurance and an SR22 filing so you can get your license back.
- You’re trying to get your license and need to practice with your learner’s permit prior to taking the driving test.
- You have a foreign drivers license and are visiting the United States.
- You do not drive but you have a teen who wishes to drive however you have to purchase the car in your name given that they are a minor.

Should I simply purchase state minimum limits?
If you don’t have any savings or assets, minimal liability coverage may be sufficient however it would not be enough to cover major injuries or to repair/replace a new car or truck. Without adequate coverage, your future wages might be garnished to cover the damage you cause.
If you only have the state-required $10,000 property damage and hit an auto worth say $20,000, the insurer will pay the $10,000 but you are accountable for the rest.
Essentially, you are self-insuring for anything over the insurance limits you have purchased. If you don’t want to have your salary garnished or your properties sold, seriously consider buying greater limits of liability.
Can I drive a vehicle I just bought without insurance?
You cannot by law drive a car without insurance. Even if you recently bought it. Washington state mandates all vehicles driven on public roads to be insured. The fact that you just purchased the vehicle does not change the requirement.
The good news is, if all of your presently owned vehicles are insured by one insurance provider then the insurance coverage from those cars automatically transfers for a few days (consult with your insurance provider to find out precisely how much time).
If every one of your automobiles are not insured with one insurer, you will want to call your company before you drive off with the car. If you do not have insurance coverage, you ought to call Mid-Columbia Insurance prior to driving off the lot

- Be sure you have each company quote you with the exact same driving MVR
- Make certain you examine the agency’s online reviews
It is extremely simple for an insurer to have a reduced price tag if they are giving less protection or are not including the very same tickets and wrecks. Make certain you’re receiving an accurate comparison. Select the exact same set of protections, limits, and deductibles as well as the exact same driving history for each and every quote you obtain.
