Failure to display proof of protection when asked by a law enforcement officer is considered an infraction and can lead to penalties of as much as $550.

Can you get Vehicle insurance if I don’t have a driver’s license?
You can purchase automobile insurance coverage despite the fact that you do not have a driver license. Someone may question why somebody would need to but there are a number of legitimate reasons somebody may want to, all having to do with protecting themselves and their assets.

- You do not drive but you have a teenager who wants to drive however you need to purchase the vehicle in your name given that they are a minor.
- Your license is suspended, you most likely want to get insurance coverage and an SR22 filing so you can get your license back.

Can I simply get state minimum limits?
If you don’t have any savings or assets, minimum liability protection may suffice but it would certainly not suffice to pay for severe injuries or to repair/replace a newer auto. Without enough insurance, your future wages might be garnished to cover the damage you cause.
If you only are carrying the state-required $10,000 property damage and wreck a car or truck worth say $20,000, the insurer will certainly pay the $10,000 however you will be responsible for the remainder.
In essence, you are self-insuring for anything over the insurance coverage limits you have actually chosen. If you do not intend to have your earnings garnished or your possessions sold, seriously consider buying higher limits of liability.
May I drive a car I just bought without insurance coverage?
You can not by law drive an automobile without insurance coverage. Even if you just purchased it. Washington state requires all autos driven on public roads to be properly insured. The fact that you just now purchased the auto does not change the requirement.
Fortunately, if all of your existing owned cars and trucks are covered by one insurer then the coverage from those cars and trucks conveniently transfers for a couple of days (contact your insurance provider to find out specifically how long).
If all of your cars and trucks are not insured with one company, you will wish to call your company prior to driving off with the car. If you do not have insurance, you ought to call Mid-Columbia Insurance prior to driving off with the car

- Ensure that you are requesting each insurer provide the same coverages
- Ensure you have each insurer quote you with the same driving history
- Ensure you evaluate the insurer’s online reviews
It is really easy for an agent to have a lower price if they are giving less insurance coverage or are not using the same tickets and accidents. Be sure you’re getting an accurate comparison. Select the very same package of coverages, limits, and deductibles as well as the very same driving history for each quote you request.

If you are simply trying to find the lowest price you have a number of choices:
- Stop getting tickets like others gather Pokemon.
- Raise your deductibles.
- Get quotes from a variety of insurers. Each insurance provider weighs ranking elements differently so costs can vary by hundreds of dollars. As an independent agency, Mid-Columbia Insurance automatically shops multiple insurance companies for you.
- Only carry the protections you have to have.

About Rock Island
Rock Island is a city in Douglas County, Washington, United States. It is part of the Wenatchee–East Wenatchee Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 788 at the 2010 census.
Rock Island was officially incorporated on November 3, 1930. The area of Rock Island was used by Native American tribes for fishing and crossing of the Columbia River due to the nearby Rock Island Rapids prior to settlement of the Washington Territory.
The site had been previously settled in the late 19th century and was known as Hammond; early maps sometimes show the city as Hammond P.O. (Post Office) or Power City. In the teacup valley in which Rock Island is currently located, two men, Ingraham and McBride, opened a trading post in the early 1860s. Their patrons were local Native Americans, who often fished that stretch of the Columbia when the fish were running. The two pioneering men would later move their post to the mouth of the Wenatchee River, leaving little trace of their stay.
