A broad form insurance policy will not normally* cover damages to the vehicle you are driving. A broadform policy always has liability coverage to cover an accident when you are at fault.
Uninsured Motorist (UM) and Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverages can be added to your broadform policy and are highly recommended.
*normally – If you have Uninsured Motorist Property Damage and someone hits you who does not have insurance, then your car would be covered as if the other guy did have insurance.
